The Catfish Welcome Jordan Riley

Jordan Riley is set to play in the fall for the University of Nevada Wolf Pack. He’s had a tremendous high school career at Pleasant Valley High in Chico California. He’s one of four true freshman the Cape Catfish are excited about this summer.

You read correctly, Chico California. With ties to Southeast Missouri through family in Sikeston, Jordan is excited to make Cape his home for the summer before heading to the Wolfpack in August.

Jordan is a few weeks away from wrapping up his high school career. A three year Varsity pitcher, Riley threw 34.1 innings his sophomore season. He ended with three wins, 34 strikeouts and a crazy low 0.82 ERA. He helped his team to a 19-1 overall record and a #68 ranking in the state.

Jordan’s junior season, his team came up just short of their state title run. Jordan had five wins and a 1.46 ERA in 48 innings. He struck out 60 batters and had a .169 OBA. The team finished ranked #43.

This season, he and his teammates are poised to go even further. In his senior campaign he’s been impressive, racking up four wins in 41 innings pitched including a complete game, one hit shutout vs crosstown rival Chico HS. He’s struck out 53 so far this season and his team takes an 18-3 record into the playoffs.

We wish Jordan and his teammates the best as they make their run and we look forward to seeing him in a Catfish uniform in early June!
