They say big things come in small packages, Justin Carinci, the sophomore second baseman for Mineral Area JC wrote the book on it … Carinci hails from Ajax Ontario and stand 5′ 8″, 165 lbs and his stats for MAC are off the charts this season … as a freshman, he batted .322 and played in all 49 games … 64 hits, 10 doubles, 2 home runs, 39 runs scored and 18 rbi’s … he stole 17 bases in 18 attempts, great stats for a freshman … after 34 games in his sophomore campaign Carinci is leading the team with an insane .465 batting average … his 59 hits and 45 runs lead the 24-11 MAC squad … he has a .521 OBP and a .646 slugging % …10 doubles, 2 triples, 3 home runs and 21 rbi’s … he has the lowest strikeout total on the team (10 k’s) with the most at bats (129) … to say he’s a good base stealer would be an understatement as he has swiped 31 bases in 32 attempts giving him 48 steals in 50 attempts in his career so far at MAC …
