The Cape Catfish Welcome Back Marshall Brown!

Marshall Brown is coming back to the Pond

Kennett’s Marshall Brown is set to pitch in his 3rd season for the Cape Catfish. After an impressive high school career, Brown decided to take his talents to Arkansas Tech University in 2021.

Arkansas Tech Wonder Boys:

2022– Brown appeared in 15 games for Arkansas Tech, mainly out of their bullpen. He ended the season with 24.2 innings pitched, giving up 24 earned runs for a 4.74 ERA. He went 3-0 and had 1 save, striking out 19 with only 6 walks. Opponents only batted .273 off of him.

2023– Brown has appeared in 12 games for the 29-17 Wonder Boys so far this season. He has a 2-1 record with 29.1 innings pitched and a 6.67 ERA. He has 23 k’s and 13 walks, hitters have a .366 BAA.

Cape Catfish Stats:

2021-(Championship Season) – Marshall pitched for the Catfish the summer before he started at Arkansas Tech. He appeared in 20 games out of the bullpen for the Fish and ate up 32.1 innings. Brown went 0-1 with a save while striking out 30 and walking 14, ending the year with a 5.84 ERA

2022- Last season for the Catfish, Brown really came into his own. He led the team in innings pitched with 56.1 as well as wins as he went 4-4 with 1 save. He appeared in 15 games, starting 6 of those. Marshall had an incredible 39 strikeouts with only 6 walks and an impressive 3.86 ERA. The Catfish hope he can build on those stats in 2023.
