Mark Hogan is the all-time winningest coach in Southeast Missouri baseball history retiring after 18 seasons at the helm.  He compiled a 526-456-1 record with 2 NCAA Regional appearances.  Southeast became one of the elite teams in the Ohio Valley Conference under Hogan’s leadership.  Not only did the Redhawks make the conference championship tournament 18 straight years, but they racked up 248 conference victories along the way.  Southeast played the OVC Tournament championship game 7 times and posted 15 or more league wins in 8 seasons.

A native of Cape Girardeau, Hogan played on the 1976 SEMO College World Series team.  He attended Mississippi State University and was an assistant coach during the Bulldogs ’78-’79 SEC Championship and CWS 5th place finish.  Head coaching stints include, Crestview High School, Fl., Lurleen B. Wallace CC, Al., Livingston University, Al., and Southeast Missouri State University.  His overall record was 911-713-3.

Hogan accepted minority ownership and the General Manager position for the newly formed Cape Catfish in 2018.

2019 – Inaugural season 45-19 record Western Division Champions, Prospect League Champion Runner Up.

2020 – Covid Canceled

2021 – Prospect League Champions, Western Division Champions 43-22

2022 – 3rd place Prospect League Western Division 26-33

2023 – 1st place Prospect League Western Division 39-18 *including 12 straight wins to start the 2023 season which is a Prospect League record.

Hogan and his wife Becky reside in Cape Girardeau, Mo.  They have 3 married daughters and five grandchildren.
