Meteorologist Grant Dade to Throw First Pitch at Cape Catfish Home Opener

Cape Girardeau, Mo.—The Cape Catfish are thrilled to announce that beloved local meteorologist Grant Dade from KFVS-12 will throw the ceremonial first pitch at their 2025 season home opener on Thursday, May 29, against the Thrillville Thrillbillies of Marion, Ill.

Dade’s selection to throw the first pitch is a heartfelt tribute to his exceptional dedication and bravery during the recent back-to-back tornadoes that impacted the region. In a display of unwavering commitment to the community he serves, Dade continued to provide critical weather updates and safety information to viewers even as the storms threatened his own safety, ultimately moving to a safe space while remaining on air.
